Summer is Here

Heston wearing Josh's hat at the mall, if I could only get the pacie away from him.

Heston at mom's

Josh got his report card yesterday. He made 100's in math, reading, spelling and got a 75 in English. We had a great year. The kids will start daycare on Monday and we have VBS next week too, so a busy week is approaching. Jon will also be out of town the whole week, which I am NOT looking forward to. In the 3 weeks he has been off I have already gotten spoiled to not having to get kids up, dressed, fed and out the door. Not to mention the hectic evening schedule next week for VBS. We will be lucky to get baths every night...

The kids will also attend a VBS at Dallas Bay Baptist Church, several of our friends attend that church so they will have fun. That is in a few more weeks. Josh will be traveling to Texas for a few weeks and I will be taking the kids to New Jersey to visit Travis, Deb, Grace and Cannon in July. Travis and I are planning to take Josh to a Yankees Baseball game.

All in all we have a busy summer. I am already looking forward to school starting in the fall, just to get into a routine, but a much needed break from homework and hectic school and church schedule is really needed too. I am sure Josh wants a break as well. He got a trophy for his Accellarated reading program at school this year. He got first place for most AR points in all the 3rd grade classes. (I may have already told you).

"Good News"...well I think

This is Heston, Asa and Brody-his main men at church

Heston at the playground

I may have already shown these to you, just dont remember-enjoy anyways!

Jon just got a call to go back to work. We are a little relieved, but had just pulled Heston out of daycare. They will start again next week. He will be traveling to either Birmingham or Nashville so he will be gone 4 nights and 5 days a week. I HATE that! I will have all 3 by myself which will be a challenge. It is hard to grocery shop etc with all of them. I am sure I will be depending on mom even more than I already do!

Heston is much better. He has been eating and drinking us out of house and home since Saturday. However, his new medicine makes him hyper so I am having to give him benedryl too. I am still waiting to hear back on 2 tests, so still dont know what was wrong. On Friday we went back to the Dr. and to TC Thompson's Childrens Hospital for more blood work and that came back better, but still not normal. The Dr. said she should implement a "card" to punch every time we come in, she thought for sure I could have a new luggage set by now. She really is the best Dr. ever!

The kids are fine, we are especially proud of Josh, as he came in first in all of third grade in the accellerated reading program! He received a trophy too. We will pick up his report card tomorrow. Baseball has ended and we will have the end of the season party Friday at Chester Frost Park/Lake, which we are all looking forward to.

Jon has done a good job with the kids while he had them...and an ok job with keeping up the house...my standards are a little high though...LOL

He has really entertained them, taking them to the park and for treats-mainly slushies during the sonic happy hour. Tomorrow he will venture to the Zoo with them and who knows what else he will come up with to finish off his week of keeping them and the house...

"Heston update"

This is old, Josh got baptized at Hallmark Baptist Church in
Ft. Worth by Mike Davis right before we moved to Chattanooga

This was last Wed night at church
This is Katelyn, blue and white dress, front and center
She was so funny, after she sand her song she yelled out
"daddy I can see you" and the music minister said "now that this little girl knows where her daddy is, everyone else stand up so your kids can know where you are" Jon was so embarrassed!

This is my Heston, he is still sick. This was him last week, he
fell asleep in our living room floor.
They still don't know what is wrong with him. Still dont have results on
2 tests. Mono and one more, I honestly cant remember at this point.
His chest x-ray is clear, but his sed rate was way above normal (which means there is inflamation somewhere in his body.) His fever comes and goes. The Dr. changed his medication to something stronger and he is starting that tonight. If not better by Friday we go back to the Dr. for the next phase of testing, however they are running out of things to test for. She mentioned something about a CT scan of his head to look at sinuses. Jon does say that he seems better today and I have not seen him so I am taking his word!

Things change daily at our house

Kate at the mall playing

Heston. Asa, And Brody-at church, these are his main buddies

Heston at the playground at church

Well Yesterday was a busy day like usual at our house. Jon met me with Kate and Heston at Taco Bell for dinner, just before church last night. (Josh was in a Spring Musical and had to be there early). When I saw and felt Heston, I thought he was warm and possibly had a fever. I was right, we got home took his temp. It was 101.4 (after Tylenol). He woke up this morning with a temp of 102.5, so I called the Dr. and got him in for 10:30. Jon is throwing up (once last night and once today) and Kate's allergies are really bothering her. Ugg!! I believe Heston has an ear infection and I am anxiously awaiting his call to confirm. He took Kate to mom and dad's since he is not feeling well himself and didn't want to take both kids to the Dr.'s Office. I think Kate will stay most of the day with mom and dad. She is having a good time with granddad in the yard. It is really cloudy here today with a chance for rain. We have a ballgame tonight, pending the weather. -Jon just called, not a sinus infection, ear infection...more testing with Blood and Urine...I am now very concerned. We have not had a free night this week, so kids and all their activities are keeping us busy and tired. I will be posting more pictures soon as we have taken a lot this week with all the various things going on! Will also give a "Heston" update.

Mommy misses....

I will be adding Mother's Day pics soon, for now these Easter Pics will have to do!

Since Jon has been laid off and I am the sole working adult in our house, life as I knew it, is gone, if only temporarily. I am not trying to complain because in many ways my life is easier and Jon is becoming a great domestic "diva". He is cleaning, doing the laundry, taking the kids for treats, all while I am at work. I haven't seen Heston (in the mornings) 2 days in a row and as for Kate, I managed to see this morning since Jons attempt at doing her hair after letting her sleep in yesterday- did not go well . He made sure she was up before I left the house this morning so I could tackle that task for him. For now, Heston still goes to daycare and Kate is staying home with Jon. Josh is still in school though only for a few more days...Jon is about to have 2 full time kids to keep and manage the house! Life as he knew it is...well over too, hopefully and again, only temporarily. I am getting some more hours in the church nursery and Jon did get accepted on unemployment so we are doing fine these days...might even come out ahead, haven't done the math, but it might be close...well once we pull Heston out of daycare. I just know that I miss taking Heston to daycare in the mornings and miss seeing his smiling face when I wake him up...so tomorrow, at all costs I am taking him to school-myself!

Spring Update

Granddad and Kate at a Father/granddaughter Ball
Josh with a school project...complete!

Well most of you know that Jon was laid off by his employer Hubbuch Glass. They say it is a temporary lay off and they plan on calling him back in a few months. Where does that leave us?we thought oh no, cant get worse...well I am here to say it does. We got home, right after hearing this news, only to find a bill from the IRS...and then Saturday night the fridge stopped working, so oh, yes, it can get worse. We are coming up with a game plan and we are sure we will survive. So with no food in our fridge (and thanks to mom and dad for missing church yesterday to save our food at least it didn't all get ruined! ) and bills adding up and the loss of one job we are here to stand on God's word that He will provide for his children! We have a lot to be thankful for, and here is to hoping Jon can get Heston potty trained in the next few weeks and get the kitchen cabitnets painted and all that other stuff we have been putting off!
