Mommy and Kate

This is a picture of me and Kate before heading the princess tea a few weeks ago.

Kate had her 5 year check up at the doctor's today. Her Dr. said she was in great health and she is just perfect. She recited her phone # for the Dr. too! She is 3'11" tall and weighs 56 lbs. She is perfect for her height and weight but NOT for her age. She is off the charts for her age in height and weight so she is just going to be tall (which we already knew). She is such a mess. Callie is staying with us this week since mom and dad are in New Jersey and Callie's tag on her collar is flower shaped. Katelyn told her last night that she had a beautiful flower on her necklace...she was so serious and really just talking to Callie like she was her best friend. It was so cute. Heston ended up in bed with us the past 2 nights, not sure how or why, but know I woke up in a "puddle" he made at 4:30 this morning...Josh is fine basketball game tomorrow at 10, and skills assessment for baseball tomorrow from 2-4...so again another busy weekend. Hope all is well and until next time...

My boys

No matter what sport or season we are in my boys LOVE action! Jon was told that he would be working out of town this Spring so he just knew he would not be able to coach Josh's Baseball team this year. He talked to his boss about wanting to coach in the community again this year and this week found out that he is in charge of a job in town which should carry him at least through most of the baseball season. He is THRILLED to be able to coach. One of his players last year can up to him calling him "coach" and Jon's voice got that excited tone in it...it is just in his blood, I guess. Last Saturday Jon took Heston with him to sign Josh up for the season. Heston kept telling Jon that he too wanted to play "hit the all". One of my good friends from High School is very involved in the league we are in (like vice president or something) and is allowing Heston to play T-ball this year. Since he will be 3 by the time the season starts they are going to let him play ball! Heston can hit the ball with a bat without the aid of the T-stand already, so he should be able to "hold his own". I was anticipating a very busy season with just Josh being involved, now to have 2 involved is going to be interesting. Not sure if Kate will ever show much interest in the baseball/softball sport but if she ever does we may have 3 involved at the same time...divide and conquer is all I can say...in the mean time, Kate is enjoying her gymnastics at school, Josh is wrapping up Basketball season, with the tournament this weekend and following week and awards dinner on March 2. (which reminds me I need to get a sitter for the little ones)...

Kate and her dreams

Katelyn always dreams and she remembers her dreams vividly. She has nightmares a lot. I have been praying with her each night and have even gone as far as putting a New Testament Bible under her mattress. Things have gotten better since I have taken these steps but she still dreams and dreams...
This morning she woke up in the BEST mood. Kate is NOT a morning person and normally we have lots of crying in the mornings while getting ready for school. Well today, she woke up telling me she had a dream that God talked to her on paper. I asked if it were the Bible b/c God talks to us through it and she said no. God wrote in sidewalk chalk to her. I asked if she knew what He said and she said no, she can't read yet and His voice wasn't loud enough. We ended our conversation and next thing I know she is telling Josh about it. She was so excited about it. While in the car on the way to school she told me when she goes to Heaven she wants to wear her princess dress. She is just so sweet. She worries about her brothers, last night she thought Heston was going into the street and she went into a panic trying to make sure he was safe. There are times she worries about Josh too. She is such a girl (already worrying about her family). I asked her if she loves Jesus and of course she says yes without batting an eye. I asked her if she has asked Jesus to live in her heart and she said yes, a long time ago!! I am thrilled to hear these things. I pray everyday God will bring all my children to a saving knowledge of Him. I see God answering my prayers!! To God be the glory.

This was our snow that was at the end of January. Heston is crying b/c Josh just hit him in the face with a snowball. We had about 4-5 inches.

Heston on Kate's Birthday, getting ready to celebrate
Well, as you can all see, we stay busy! We had a great trip Christmas seeing the family in Texas. We traveled long and far to see as many people as we could in the short time we were there.
Josh has been busy with Basketball and this Saturday we will be signing him up for Baseball. His lowest grade on his progress report was an 81 in his weakest subject, writing. So he has worked hard to keep his grades up and has shown that he can handle making the grades while involved in a sport/activity. Thursday is Grandparents Day at school and he has asked Mike to come for that.
Kate had a wonderful 5th Birthday! Her party went well and she had LOTS of fun. Just when I had a moment to catch my breath Josh was asking about his birthday party...so no rest for me til March 12th...at least! Our church held a Princess Tea on Saturday which me and Kate attended. She had a great time. We even got to see the "real" Beauty and the Beast-she thought that was awesome. She also enjoyed the food! After the tea, we went to a friend of mine's baby shower. She is having a boy due on March 26th (which was Heston's due date) Kate also had fun there-eating cake of course! Then we were off to Josh's last basketball game of the season-his tournement starts this weekend-we had a full Saturday to say the least!
Heston can't wait til his Birthday. This weekend he sang over and over the Happy Birthday song. He kept saying I want cake and I want Chuck E Cheese (whom he is scared of). He fell against a table at church yesterday and split is chin open. (well between his lip and chin) It bled so much and looked so aweful that I took him to see Granddad at the hospital-just to make sure we didn't need stitches. All checked out ok.
Jon is in town again this week so again I am getting some break from having all the kid responsibility on me. I have been so focused on everyone else that today I made a doctors appointment for myself (since I havent even been for a check up since Heston was born).
Last night mom and dad came over to watch the Super Bowl, we had a great time and Josh is very glad the Saints won and Jon and I really didn't care who won...Mom and Dad were pulling for the Colts (Peyton Manning, since he played at Tennessee)
Kate has another birthday party to attend this weekend and the kids are also looking forward to Valentine's Day parties at school this week - Jon and I have no plans for Valentine's Day - (I guess that is the way it is for most parents with small children)
Until next time-Cheers!

SNOW-

The snow started about 11:00 on Friday (1/29) and did not stop the rest of the day. The kids had so much fun playing in about 4 inches of snow. Jon and I stayed warm inside, but the kids went sledding and had a blast. It stayed around for several days, then by Monday afternoon had pretty much all melted. That is my kind of snow. After about 24 hours without leaving the house I get cabin fever!! On Saturday Katelyn and I ventured to the mall, on Sunday afternoon I went to Target and Sunday evening we all went to church. School was canceled for Monday so I took a vacation day to stay home with the kids-my babysitter-a/k/a GrandSherry was in Atlanta so couldn't watch them this time.
Today is Katelyn's 5th Birthday. She was so excited last night that she couldn't fall asleep. She came in our room about 12:15 and said she hadn't been able to fall asleep so I put her in bed with us. (Heston joined us about 3:30). Kate woke up this morning, and much to her surprise she HAS to go to school on her birthday-I guess she thought she'd have the day off! After much crying I finally convinced her that being with her friends on her birthday was much better than staying home. That brought us to the next issue of the morning. Since her party is tomorrow, and all her friends from school will be there I did not get any cup cakes to take to school today-this led to another crying fit. When I explained she would have it tomorrow at her party it led to yet another crying fit!! She thought her party was tonight. I finally convinced her that this way she celebrates for 2 days and not just one and she calmed down. After all that we all got ready and got out the door to go about our day.
The other night, something woke me and Jon up, we could tell it was a kid in the hallway, just didn't know which one. Jon went to investigate and there he was, Heston! When Jon asked what he was doing he said "I had to go potty!" He woke up, took himself potty and was on his way back to bed!! Yea he is potty trained, even night time potty trained! We are thrilled. He is getting to be such a big boy (if I could just get the pacie away!)
Josh has a game tonight and one on Saturday then the end of season tournement. That will end the basketball season. He has had a great time learning another sport. Baseball sign-ups are rapidly approaching and he is looking forward to that. School is going fine for him-he will be getting his report card soon-he has been on the honor roll all year, so he should this time too.
Jon got to stay in town this week, so I have had a little break with all the weekly homework, bath, etc caos, but he has worked some long hours, so overtime pay will be nice, too. We adults are fine. No real news here. Hope all is well, and after her party, princess tea (on Saturday) I will be posting pics next week!! Until then Cheers!
