Graduation

Her program was cute, she was one of the three that got to lead the pledge and the National Anthem and she did a great job saying her memory verse and singing their songs. She is so proud to be going to school with Josh next year, and as always, Josh is going to look out for her at school. I DO feel comforted knowing he will be there on her first day and that maybe she won't feel so alone. I remember Josh's first day of school. Awe...the memories. I can't believe he is going into the th grade. Josh and Kate are definitely my more independent children. Josh would always welcome a new setting and Kate has been generally open to new settings too. They have always done well adjusting. (Heston does well adjusting, but he does tend to cry and be more dependant than the older 2). I will be comforted to know that Katelyn will be there for him when he starts Kindergarten. They may all fight all the time, but when it comes down to it, they really love each other and have each others backs. I hope that they remain close all the way through adulthood. Last week I took them to the park before church. Heston fell and Kate got to him as fast as she could when she realized he was hurt. (nothing a band aid could not cure) We are blessed to have 3 great kids!!
Josh made the honor roll again and we are proud of his grades. As you all know, he is playing All Stars Baseball this summer. Wednesday, at practice, he was hitting the ball to the fences (more than once) so I think he is getting better and better. Normally, when they get used to a position and batting, the season ends, so I am excited to have him see some wins and see his talent in a new way. This is going to be a fun and memorable experience for him.
Heston is just Heston. He is getting more and more personality with each passing day. He definitely has a sense of humor, and as he is able to talk more and learn more words we are really getting to see a new side of him.
Jon is working in town for now. His company may not be able to keep him in town for long, but we have agreed that if it comes down to his traveling or quitting his job he will quit. We have officially opened All Glass and Mirror, we have gotten our business license, opened a business checking account and put our advertisement in the phone book in hopes that if "all else fails" he can make some money working for himself. We have really been praying about this and of course in this economy it is hard to find a job, much less open a new and successful business. With the strong possibility of my job changing, I am going to need Jon to have a more flexible job because mine won't be so flexible if I move to the courthouse.
One other thing...Jon went today and applied for Josh's new social security card. He is officially Joshua Wayne Bryan Davis (no more McFarland, ever!) and he also applied for his social security card. His was stolen in Terrell, TX in 2003, right before we were to fly to New Jersey for the holidays-along with his drivers license-some of you might remember that horrible story! He has not had even a copy of his social security card since then.
Well that is all the exciting news for the day-week...whatever. So until next time...Cheers!

BASEBALL

Heston 3/4 year old-Boston Red Sox

Well this week is Josh's end of season tournament. He has a game tonight at 6, so I will be rushing to the ball fields after work. Heston's last game is tonight. I believe he is "going to miss it" because, to be quite honest, he is OVER it...he enjoys batting but fielding loses his attention FAST.
Josh has made the All Star team, and if Jon's work schedule works out, he will play...it is going to be TIME CONSUMING...from what I hear. I am hoping my fears are making it worse than it will really be...we'll see. It will be a good experience for him though.
We are all fine. Jon came home on Thursday night, so he was off on Friday...makes a huge difference in our weekend. He has to work out of town through Saturday this week, so it is going to be one LONG week. He will be off next Thursday, the 27th to attend Kate's pre-school graduation.
Again, no real news, just wanted to let you all see the pics of the boys. Hope all is well and we'll talk soon! Until then....Cheers!

ANGELS

Kate and Jon fishing, this is Kate's 1st experience, and she takes after me, and didn't catch a thing!! This was at the Grand Opening for Academy Sports and Outdoors. Jon and I took Kate and Josh last weekend. It was fun, they had lots of "freebies" for the kids. Josh even made 3 baskets in a row and won a $10.00 gift card. Of course he is wanting to spend it on a Nerf Gun...like we need another one-

Me and Kate outside the school.

This is Kate on Registration day. She is all registered for Kindergarten.
She cant wait, She will go to Ganns Middle Valley.

Kate again

I have titled this blog ANGELS, because last week, each of the kids experienced their angels watching over them. I will start out on Tuesday night. I took the kids to eat at Chick Fil A because the one by the ball fields has "kids eat free night" every Tuesday. They have a play area which Heston was playing in while the rest of us were finishing up our meal. He apparently slipped out of the play area without me noticing. I kinda panicked when I didn't immediately see him nor did he respond to my pleas for him to come to mommy...so next, I ran to the bathrooms to make sure he wasn't in there--well HE was, in the men's bathroom, calling me to come help him. To say the least I was thankful that nothing more serious had happened to him because trust me the worst went through my mind.
The next experience was with Josh. He plays catcher for baseball now. He was in the dug out, when the batter in the batter box, hit him in the head with a weighted bat, full force. He was wearing his catchers mask and helmet when he was hit, so he wasn't seriously injured. We all know this could have been a serious injury!
Well, that just leaves Kate. For whatever reason, we had Heston's old stroller out on the patio. Kate and Heston were pushing each other in it when Heston pushed Kate right into the street, she stopped at the curb on the other side of the street. Thank goodness no cars were coming around the curve...ANGELS, I pray for their protection around my family everyday and last week they were working overtime!
We are all well, School gets out on the 24th and we all are ready!! Kate will graduate on the 27th from preschool. She will wear a cap and gown too. She is really looking forward to this. Her school asked me to bring some baby pictures and as I was going through them, I wondered where the time went. She is so grown up and ready for the next phase of life...I can't believe it.
She and Heston took a gymnastics program at school and will have a "Rock n Roll" performance on Friday, Jon and I will have to miss Josh's game to go, but Josh has had lots of games that the little ones have "suffered" through, so it will be ok to miss.
Please be in prayer for my boss. His name is Jeff Atherton. He is running in the election for Hamilton County Chancery Court (judge) Chancellor. He has a very good chance of winning, but it has been a difficult race to say the least. A few uphill battles -but he has overcome them so far and we just pray that he keeps fighting and wins!! This is most likely mean a change in employment for me too (for the better)...so keep the situation in your prayers.
Hope all is well with all who keep up with the Davis'. Until next time, Cheers!!

Kate in Kindergarten

Today I registered Kate for Kindergarten. I am a little sad, but at the same time very excited, if only for one reason, a reduction in daycare costs!! I am sad, too, because I know how fast the years are going by, Josh will be in the 5th grade in the fall, which I am ok with, just NOT ok with 6th grade, middle school, that is a WHOLE-nother blog post. Kate went with me and when I remember my computer camera cord thingy I will post the pictures I took of her at the school today. Katelyn is VERY excited and ready to go off to school, I have no worries she will do great, just so sad that she is really growing up. She is so good with Heston and for that matter Josh, she loves her brothers. Last night I was busy doing laundry and Heston could not find his cup. I told her I would give her a quarter if she would help him find it. She looked for it, with no avail, but did come back to me and say "mom, don't you forget about that quarter" She cracks me up. The other day Heston was "snoring' on the couch, pretending to be asleep, She stated "he is pretending to be a Platypus...instead of Possum...it was really cute. Jon is STILL working out of town, his company promises in a few weeks he will get to work in town. Heston was crying for his daddy today at breakfast, which he has NEVER done before, so I know we are all VERY tired of no daddy. Josh has been voted into ALL STARS baseball. Jon and I are trying to decide if he should play. We know that there are a lot of pros and cons the only reason I don't want him to play is if Jon is working out of town-it would just be impossible for me to RUN RUN RUN all summer by myself with all the kids (not to mention work, Dr. Apts, swim lessons etc) The games are everywhere not just locally by our house-makes a huge difference in do-ability. Anyways, no other real news. I will post pics soon, I hope. Cheers!!
