Josh playing for the Dodgers. He has played several positions, and is currently doing REALLY well as catcher.

Heston at his friend, Lucie's birthday party.

Heston at his first game. He hit the ball, and notice it was off a pitch and not a 'Tee'

Kate and Heston playing at the ball fields during one of Josh's games.

Not sure how these pictures got out of order, but here is Heston and Kate with their Easter baskets.

Here is the burnt spot from Josh's little fire "experiment" As you can see, it is a good size spot.
Well the past week has been a full one, to say the least. I have been busy at work because my boss is running for a Judge's position in the upcoming election. Yes, my job could soon be changing to that of a Judge's secretary, which means I will be a County employee with County benefits etc. I am really hopeful that he will win the election and not just for my sake, but for the County's sake too. He is a good, honest, ethical attorney, that would be a GREAT judge.
Jon and several of my friends and family surprised me with a Surprise 30th Birthday party on Saturday. It was great to see friends and family (at my messy house!) after a dinner out with Jon. They really did "get" me. I had NO clue! Thanks everyone for the birthday cards, gifts and well wishes on my big day. My friend Kristi, has a friend Cathy who has lost a lot of weight recently and gave us all her old clothes! Seriously, I have 2 huge containers full of new (tags still on them) clothes. I have been blessed with a new wardrobe!
Josh has been busy, despite his being grounded. He has been working on a science project for the past 6 weeks. (well, more me than him) Well yesterday we Finally finished it! I have to take it to school on Thursday between 7-8 am -like I don't have enough to do already-He also has a Dr. Apt with a pediatric urologist on Friday, he has had some issues that his pediatrician wants to investigate further, so please pray all is ok, or that if there is a problem it will be easy to treat.
Kate is fine. She is excited about graduating preschool (ceremony on May 27th) and moving onto Kindergarten at "Josh's school" in the fall. I register her for kindergarten next week. She is also going to take swimming lessons every Saturday in June at the YMCA. She can't wait, she LOVES the water.
Heston is a little stinker. Yesterday while I was working in the nursery at church, Kate and Josh got to go to the playground (Josh has to go with me when Jon has to do camera's since he is no longer allowed to stay home alone) and Kate's class went to the playground, so I let him go too. Well, Heston wanted to go, and his class was not going to the playground...needless to say, a man doing "parking lot control" came into the nursery office with Heston in tow. Heston had escaped my vision/classroom and had made it OUTSIDE! He was on his way to the playground! He has also been pushing, kicking etc. Josh and Kate every chance he gets so it really looks like he is in the terrible 3's not the terrible 2's!! I have to constantly watch him.
Jon is ok. He is really tired of working out of town and working so many hours...and I am too. We are thankful for the job, but it is really starting to wear on us all. This is my schedule this week:
Monday: Josh game 6:00 Warm up at 5:15 (I don't get off til 5 and I work 30 minute away from home)
Tuesday: Josh game 6:00 AND Heston game 6:00 (what to do with Kate?)
Wednesday: Kate dentist 9:30, Church/work 6:00
Thursday: Take Science Fair project to school b/t 7-8 am
Meeting 6:00 pm for work...what to do with the kids?
Friday: Pick up science project from school b/t 7-8 am (so they don't throw it away, I wouldn't mind them trashing it, but got to thinking Kate could use it and so could Heston-)
Josh Dr. 9:00 am
I am supposed to work in there too Mon-Fri. 8:30-5:00
My parents have been a HUGE help and I am looking for a full time babysitter for Kate and Josh for the summer to help lighten my load a little, just not sure it will work out. I have also quit working in the church nursery on Sunday nights (effective immediately) and Wednesday nights (effective at the end of May). The little extra money was nice, but my sanity is much more precious to me!
OTHER NEWS:
Kate lost her first tooth on 4/9/10.
The boys had their baseball pictures taken on Saturday, so when we get them I will send them to you.
Well I guess that gets you up to date for now. Until next time!! Cheers.

FIRE!

OK, so there I was folding laundry Sunday afternoon while the kids were playing outside. All is well, the kids were entertained outside, I was catching up on overdue housework when in comes Katelyn. She declares "Josh is building a bonfire" I said, "no he isn't, you tell him mommy said to get his bottom in this house now" she replies and I quote, "mommy, I am afraid it is too late" I said "WHAT?" By this time I was in motion! I ran to the kitchen window and to my dismay I indeed saw a FIRE! I ran and got a pitcher of water and started running to the back of the property only to realize that my little pitcher of water was not going to put out this fire...I yelled at Josh to go fill the 5 gallon bucket up with water from the hose when, much to my relief, I saw the neighbor (who had been mowing his yard and saw the occurring events) running with a 5 gallon bucket of water...he got the majority of the fire out and went to retrieve more water while I went to get some sand to put on top of it once we felt confident that it was really out and wouldn't re-ignite...After 15 gallons of water and a 5 pound bag of sand was poured on the burnt ground Josh was in serious trouble...
I immediately thanked the neighbor and assured him that Josh would be disciplined and sent Josh to his room...
Josh, who was setting a pine cone on fire, and when it flamed bigger than he expected, dropped the pine cone, while on fire -to the ground, on top of dry pine needles and under a pine tree, on a windy day, tried to smother the flames with more dry pine needles only to make matters worse...We hope is has learned a very valuable lesson.
JOSH'S PUNISHMENT
he is no longer allowed to stay at home by himself, no going to Nannie's/Aunt Stephie's this summer, no friends, no video games, no TV in the mornings or past 9, and the list goes on and on...He can basically go to church, school, daycare, and for now, his baseball games.
I did not think to take a picture...forgive me, but I will try to get a picture of the torched ground with a fresh pile of sand on top it...for the next blog.
This week is T-CAP testing for Josh. I made a yummy breakfast casserole for him to eat for breakfast with plenty of protein for his long week ahead. He has 4 games this week too. (what were they thinking?) Jon is home today, but leaves tomorrow for the remainder of the week. (Jon was called into work yesterday afternoon so missed this event). Here's to hoping for a better week.

Baseball

Josh and Heston (by Luck) are both # 2 this year for Baseball. Josh plays for the Dodgers and Heston plays for the Red Sox.
Josh and Heston -Josh went out there and helped Heston during his first game. He hit the ball on the first pitch and "made a home run!" He was also pitched the ball and did not hit it off the "t"-so not so bad!

When Josh was having his first practices this season me and the kids were stuck at the baseball fields with NO unlocked bathrooms. Needless to say, Heston had to "go" on several occasions so I took him to a tree and let him do his business. Well that has come back to haunt me...Here is Heston getting caught by Jon doing some business on a tree in OUR YARD!!

Here is Jon and Heston waiting to eat dinner.
We had a busy weekend. Mike came to town to watch the boys play baseball this past weekend. Josh had a game on Friday night (he lost and then we went to eat dinner) and they both had games on Saturday. Heston's was at 10:30 and Josh's was at noon. So we were at the fields for several hours. After the games we ran home, cooked lunch, rested for a few minutes, regrouped and headed to a birthday party at a park. The kids loved the park and it was a beautiful day. After the party, Jon watched the kids while I went to run erronds. Then, back home to get ready for Sunday. We had a great guest preacher this week, Jon and I both got a lot of it. We substituted in the 2 year old class during Sunday School. I worked last night and work again on the 25th. Jon has cameras this week and the next, so like always we are tired and busy. My friend Kristi, (she was in my wedding) has told us that she is going to watch the kids for us on Saturday the 24th so we can go out on a date for my 30th Birthday...we are so excited. Since mom helps me so much during the week with the kids, and normally comes to Josh's games (and now Heston's games) on the weekends, we hate to ask her to watch the kids for us just to go out, so this will be a real treat for us. Last year, Jon was traveling on his 30th and I didn't get to see him on his special day, this year he is missing my special day-which is also the day we met, which was 10 years ago...my how time flies...on a side note, Kate is fine. She is ready to swim and "live in her swim suit"this summer. She truly loves the water. I think I might have to pull the slip n slide out soon. Well, until next time, cheers.
