Happenings since school has started

Well, here we are, more than 1 month into school. Progress reports came home on Friday, I am happy to report both Josh and Kate are making good grades and are doing great in 6th and 1st grades. Kate has had her expander put on. We are almost done with all the required turns...her bite looks better and she now has a lovely gap between her top 2 center teeth (which is what we want). We will go on the 26th for a check up. Josh will have a sports physical on the 27th for try outs on the 29th and 30th for basketball. He is hopeful he will make the team. Grandsherry is going to have to help us out with practices, but it should be ok and work out. We are staying busy with Heston playing baseball and Kate playing softball. She is really doing well and has even made a HOMERUN! Heston can hit the ball, but often gets out running to 1st base. He is left handed and hits the ball right to 1st base...hardly fair!
Fall is in the air and it feels so nice. We are having a Sunday School party (social) at our house on 10/8/11. We have been busy cleaning out, cleaning in general and doing minor chores on our to do list...which doesn't look like there's an end in sight. Next weekend we are planning on cleaning things that are "weird"...like silk plants, trash cans, blinds, fans, baseboards etc. Then on 10/1 we will focus on the outside...mowing, pulling weeds, blowing off the patio etc. I have cleaned out every room in the house and cleared out all the extra toys, games, clothes...and items we just don't need/use. IT FEELS SO GOOD! The kids are even playing with what we have left. They have fewer toys and seem to be happier about it. What we kept, they really want and enjoy. We have made new rules concerning TV (especially for Josh) and he is reading a lot more now and enjoying it. small changes that make a big difference. There is not much more to tell, just wanted to keep you updated. I will post pictures of fall sports soon (I hope)!
